Join us on Tuesday, Jan. 13, at 10:00 a.m. for a roundtable on Housing Policy Ideas and Concepts. This discussion will provide members with an opportunity to discuss potential legislative ideas and solutions for Cal Cities to consider for housing legislation this year.
As Cal Cities prepares for the final year of the 2025–26 legislative session, we are closely monitoring early second-year bill introductions and engaging with legislators on several two-year bills that will advance this year. This discussion will be an open forum to explore potential legislative proposals that support cities in implementing housing laws, promoting housing development, and increasing smart, economic growth within their communities. We will also provide a forecast on what potential issues local governments can expect the legislature to work on this year.
This roundtable will provide an opportunity to discuss the following legislative issues:
- Density Bonus Law
- Housing Element Approval and Review
- Potential incentives for local governments to continue their work in promoting housing development in their communities
- Development Impact Fees
- Other issues of importance to local government staff
Moderated by:
Brady Guertin, Legislative Advocate, Housing, Community, and Economic Development, Cal Cities
Roundtable Discussions are available as an exclusive member benefit and are open to Cal Cities member cities only. Discussions are member driven and will not be recorded. The Zoom meeting information will be provided after registration. For questions specific to registration, please contact Isaac Black.
